I've always liked watching the Olympics. I used to follow it pretty closely when I was younger and had nothing else to do. :P
Once you start working though.. it's hard to balance watching what's going on and making sure you're getting your work done. Can't exactly skip school to watch the 3000m speed skating finals, ya know. And the Winter Olympics had always been more of an underdog to me.. I definitely paid much less attention to it than the Summer Olympics.
But I actually managed this time around to follow most of what went on. It was good that I could watch the events in the afternoon when I had time.. and I could watch it again prime-time. Yay for having somewhat normal hours at work. :P And since I was watching it more.. I could actually get into the spirit of it this time around. Yay for winter sports! (This year, I also managed to successfully avoid watching NBC completely (opting for the Canadian alternative instead) and saved myself the anger that I usually get from listening to some of the commenters over there *rolls eyes*)
The CBC also did showcases on the architecture and everything in Torino and it was really breath-taking. I'm marking it down as a spot I wanna visit sometime. I also wanna see an opera at the Teatro Regio Torino 'cause of all the history there. WOWWWWEEEEEEE. Somehow, I think that
kc724 should go to Torino for me and take pictures and stuff and I can just live vicariously through him since who knows when I'll actually have an opportunity to go. Up for the challenge, Karl? :P
To Torino: It was a really fantastic Winter Olympics! Thanks for hosting!
See you all in Vancouver 2010! :P

I do plan to go to italy before I leave so maybe I can swing by. I wonder how breathtaking the view can be. I've seen some pretty breathtaking scene. Heck in Romania I would of been able to see a human face naturally carved into the mountainside. Too bad the cable car to get up there was closed for high winds. *sigh*
Uhmmmm.. I still need to look at tickets for Germany. I'm so tempted. But I'd hafta bring Loren along, otherwise he'll get huffy. :P
